Gwyneth Paltrow is known for her health consciousness and for her
harsh exercise regimes & extreme diets.
Paltrow, a stunted 37-year-old,
announced that she is in the early stage of osteopenia, an elderly
person's disease.
Will she mature to conquer her
eating disorder obsession? |
|
Her bone deficiency was diagnosed by
a bone scan. The scan was performed after she suffered a leg
fracture. |
|
On her internet newsletter site,
Goop, she announced, "My doctors tested my vitamin D levels, which
turned out to be the lowest thing they had ever seen (not a good
thing)". |
|
Paltrow said that she has been put on
a regimen of prescription-strength vitamin D. Her doctor also
recommended that she spend some time in the [real] sun. |
|
Gwyneth has applied a number of
punishing diets. These have led to being diagnosed with a condition
usually found in elderly people. |
|
Osteopenia may occur when one cuts
out certain food groups such as dairy, especially if it is a
lifelong habit. Inadequate calcium intake is a major causative
factor for osteoporosis. |
|
Paltrow has strictly followed some
very unique diets. These include consuming a cup of green tea, some
supplements including almond milk and a few blueberries. This
breakfast was followed by 90 minutes of exercise. Then on to a glass
of kale juice and some very low carb tortilla wraps. |
|
Paltrow admitted to other very
extreme diets, including a maple syrup diet. This consisted of maple
syrup, cayenne peppers, lemon juice, and for a bonus treat, some
water. |
|
With so little input how could a
person expect to possess a body that can function, let alone be
healthy? Apparently Paltrow's knowledge and thinking ability fails
to provide enough common sense to realize that a human body needs
nutrients in order to function. |
|
Perhaps someday a friend will explain
to Paltrow that the body is not like the mind which can simply exist
with no input or intellect. |
|
But actually, the brain also requires
nutrition in order to function. Maybe her lack of brain function --
realizing that she is depriving her body and mind -- stems from the
lack of nutrition also. |
