Good Taste

  Eschewed By Non-Cookie Eaters

Kraft foods announced it is changing the formula of its 96-year-old Oreo cookie. They have surrendered to PC nutritionists who likely have never bought or eaten an Oreo.
Those PC nutritionists get their pleasure by ruining tasty foods for normal people. The Oreo is America's best selling cookie, but maybe not for much longer. Kraft Foods, along with too many other food manufacturers, ignores the fact that normal people without eating disorders don't mind a few calories and fats. They are Kraft's customers. If Kraft performs a taste-change operation on the venerable Oreo, who will buy it? Certainly not the PC crowd so busy munching veggies and stopping others from smoking.
Kraft says it is changing the Oreo to eliminate trans fat, a commonly used food ingredient that provides delicious flavor and texture in baked goods. The health and diet busy-bodies, instead of just not buying Oreos, insist they be ruined.
What might a more healthy Oreo taste like? Perhaps Kraft's chefs will perform a miracle and make Oreos a little more healthy and still taste as good. People without eating disorders derive pleasure from eating good tasting foods. Those pleasures add to our enjoyment of life and our longevity. Where has the miracle of fat removal increased sales? Ask McDonalds about its French fries.
To paraphrase a long-dead American patriot, give us old fashioned Oreos or give us something else filled with tasty fats and calories!!!
