  Their Rights Are What?

Democratic House leadership led by Nancy Pelosi called for an investigation into why detainees at the US Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, remain in custody and why they have not yet been put on trial.
Pelosi is fighting for the rights of several hundred terrorists and foreign fighters captured on battlefields around the world. They were caught in the act of attempting to kill coalition soldiers and innocent men, women, and children.
Pelosi appears to not understand that these combatants are not soldiers fighting under sovereign authority of any nation. They do not meet the Geneva Conventions' criteria of being soldiers as accepted by all civilized nations. Most importantly, Pelosi is attempting to give these rogue fighters the rights that the US Constitution gives to US citizens only -- rights these combatants are not even granted in their own homelands.
Pelosi is at odds with most Americans on this issue. A recent poll shows again that a large majority of Americans believe the detainees at Guantanamo are being treated fairly. A Rasmussen Reports survey determined that 36% of Americans say the detainees are being treated better than they deserve and another 34% say they are being treated about right. Only one in five feels the detainees are being treated unfairly.
Pelosi appears to have forgotten about the nearly 3,000 innocent American and foreign human beings who had all rights taken when they were murdered on 9/11 and remain imprisoned in the ashes and rubble of the World Trade Center, Pentagon and a lonely field in Pennsylvania.
